Taize Weeks

Some Catholic chaplains take groups to Taize, sometimes as part of an ecumenical chaplaincy group. It can be a life-changing experience for young people to go there, but for many students there is not a chaplaincy group going. Two of our ecumenical colleagues, Andrew Goodman (Bedfordshire, Luton campus) and Ruth Maxey(Keele) have set up a group which groups or individual students can join to plan to visit Taize in the weeks beginning 16th and 23rd June. The New academic year

Good wishes for the new academic year, the last under the old funding regime.
For some of us the term is nearly a month old, others are just getting going. Whichever group you belong to, I hope the new year will bring many blessings. This is a difficult time for students and staff in higher education and we have an important role to play in affirming the fundamental value of learning for the human person and resisting a purely functional understanding of university study.

North West Chaplains: Wednesday 9th November at Liverpool Catholic Chaplaincy
North East Chaplains: Tuesday 15th November at Durham Catholic Chaplaincy
South East Chaplains: Thursday 17th November at London Catholic Chaplaincy, Gower Street.
South West Chaplains: Tuesday 22nd November at Bath Catholic Chaplaincy please note this meeting has been cancelled

Midlands Chaplains: Wednesday 23rd November at Newman House Catholic Chaplaincy, Birmingham

As a priest chaplain said to me recently, regional meetings enable us to support and learn from one another - they are at the heart of the conference of Catholic Chaplains. Do come along if you can.

New Committee

Our conference at Swanwick was a great success and the committee has already me to begin planning for next year's conference at Loyola Hall, Liverpool from 18 to 20 June.
Margaret Holland remains chair of the conference committee. The rest of the committee is:
