National Coordinator

National Coordinator role:

The National Coordinator is appointed by the Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales to provide resources and information for H.E. chaplains about good practice.  Chaplaincies vary greatly and each has its own challenges and strengths and its own way of working. The National Coordinator welcomes new chaplains, provides news and information, promotes training opportunities and offers ongoing support.  The Coordinator helps Chaplains to connect with each other to share good practice and to work together to understand current trends and issues.

The Coordinator offers support and a listening ear to all chaplains individually through personal contact, visiting and to the regional gatherings.  Please do get in touch if you have concerns to raise.

The National Coordinator helps to strengthen the ecumenical and multi-faith dimensions of chaplaincy, locally and nationally.   She is a member of the Committee of the ecumenical Churches’ Higher Education Liaison Group, and is part of the team which provides training for new Chaplains.

There is a Handbook for Catholic Chaplains in HE and other resources, available electronically from the Coordinator.

There is also a monthly newsletter featuring the retreats, conferences, pilgrimages and resources for both chaplains and students. If you are not on my mailing list and would like to receive news and information please contact me.
